Student Life
We expect that our students will have a wide range of interests, and that they will pursue those interests in a wide variety of ways, including their LTI internships, after school clubs, and project work during the school day.
Eastern University will provide access to its sports and recreational facilities for the students’ use. We expect the school will offer a chess club – ideally participating in the After School Activities Partnership’s (A.S.A.P.) citywide chess tournaments. Our students may also participate in the Philadelphia charter school basketball league, and any other sports activities that the local charter school leagues develop.
We will encourage and seek opportunities to send our students abroad with Eastern University partner BuildaBridge International, which works toward improving the lives of impoverished people in developing countries through the arts.
EAUCS students will be considered Eastern University students, and as such Junior and Senior high school students (typically the years when students will be taking courses for college credit) will be eligible to participate in all student activities, organizations and clubs.
Students may attend athletic events (participation will be limited by Division III rules), participate in trips, intramurals and become members of academic and leisure interest groups. Students may tryout for musical and dance ensembles and theater productions according to eligibility requirements.
