CAREER SERVICES
THE MISSION of Career Services is to provide information, encouragement and opportunities for each student to develop the skills necessary at each stage of career development: self-exploration, including the consideration of God's purpose for her or his life; career exploration; and job search.
FIRST YEAR STUDENTS: SELF ASSESSMENT During Orientation all first year students meet with Career Services and complete registration forms indicating career interests. Career Services staff responds with information and suggestions. Career and Calling are also major topics of the required first year course INST 150: Intro to Faith, Reason and Justice. Any first year student is welcome to participate in one-on-one counseling, and many are referred by their advisors. Testing including the Career Exploration Inventory, MBTI and Spiritual Gifts is available. As a practical help, a list of available Part Time Jobs is available in the Walton Hall mail room and on this web site under Job Opportunities.
SOPHOMORE YEAR: CAREER EXPLORATION All sophomores are required to attend a small group session in October during Sophomore Orientation Week. Sophomores needing help choosing a major are recommended for individual career counseling.

Career Services publishes a series of weekly of Internship and Volunteer Opportunities to help in this process, available in the Walton Mail Room and on this web site.
