Chief Human Resources Officer


Caroline M. Tate serves as Chief Human Resources Officer at Eastern University. She has over 35 years of Human Resources experience in higher education and financial services organizations. 

Prior to joining Eastern, Caroline served as Associate Vice President for Human Resources for the University of the Arts, as well as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Global Indemnity. Her roles included focusing on strategic HR leadership, cultural transformation, health and welfare administration, talent acquisition, and employee relations. With a proven track record of optimizing HR systems, improving workflow processes, and implementing cost-saving strategies.  She provided a wide range of Human Resources support to both domestic and international employees, providing her expertise for services such as: performance management, new employee onboarding, policy development, and employment law.

Caroline graduated from Bentley University, Waltham, MA with a B.S. in Marketing. As a committed professional, Caroline is involved with and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She was awarded the 2020 Nominee for SHRM Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year.
