Proxy Access
Through my.eastern.edu students may grant authorization to individuals, such as family members or guardians, to access certain information online. An authorized individual is referred to as a “Proxy”. Students must initiate the process of adding a Proxy and granting them authorization. Please carefully read the instructions below.
All three steps must be completed for a Proxy to access student information.
Step 1: Navigating to the Add New Proxy page
- Log into my.eastern.edu using your Eastern University username and password.
- Select the Unser options.
- Select View/add Proxy Access and FERPA release.
- Select Add Another User from drop down list.
Step 2: Fill out Profile and Additional Information
- Enter a First name, Last name, Birth Date, Relationship and email address for the person you would like to add as a Proxy. Please do not enter your email address. The email address you enter will serve as the Proxy’s username. If you’re adding more than one Proxy, please use a unique email address for each Proxy as you cannot use the same email address for two Proxy individuals.
Step 3: Specify Authorization and Submit
- Select the information you would like your Proxy to have access to view. You have the ability to change authorizations at any time by checking or unchecking specific pages. Changes are immediate.
- After filling out the authorizations section look over the form, then select Submit. The proxy will say "pending," until the proxy has activated their account.
- Your proxy will receive two emails outlining how they can activate their account and access the information you have authorized them to view. You will also receive copies of these emails to your eastern email.
You can change the profile or authorizations of a proxy, view a record of past authorizations, and view and manage what emails have been sent by selecting the Edit icon next to a given Proxy.
If you would like to create additional Proxy accounts, select the Add Another User and repeat steps two and three listed above.
After students have initiated the process of granting Proxy access, the parent or guardian who has been designated as the “Proxy” will receive two emails containing instructions on how to access and setup their account. Email 1 contains a link to login page and user name. Email 2 contains a temporary password.
- Open Email 1, read it carefully, then select the link at the bottom of the email.
- Open Email 2 and Enter your Initial Password. Eastern University is using multiple factor authentication, the verification code is required and will be sent to your email every time you log in.
- Enter the verification code. Follow the instruction to enter the new password.
- Click on the Eastern Student Accounts link to sign in to the proxy.
- Choose student name and click continue.
