Beverly Bryde

Lecturer of Education and Co-Director of National Professional Development Grants, College of Education and Behavioral Sciences


Dr. Bryde is a Lecturer in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Eastern University, teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Bryde serves as the co-director of two National Professional Development grants serving ESL teachers, students, schools, families and communities in Norristown as well as Avon Grove, Kennett and Oxford. Through the years, Dr. Bryde’s research and publications focused on mission development, social justice education and professional development partnerships.

Dr. Bryde earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Villanova University and her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Widener University. Although a former high school English teacher and preschool teacher, Dr. Bryde has been working and teaching in higher education for most of her career. She has held a variety of leadership and faculty positions at varying levels and within diverse areas of higher education.  Beginning her higher ed career in residence life, campus ministry and athletic coaching, Dr. Bryde then served on the faculty for many years at California Lutheran University in Southern California and Cabrini University. Most recently, Dr. Bryde was the Founding Dean for Cabrini University’s School of Education for ten years.
