Naomi Morissette

Dr. Morissette is an Assistant Professor with the School Counseling and School Psychology Department in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences.  She completed a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology specializing in Advanced Neuropsychological Assessment from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Morissette has a post-graduate certification in School Psychology from Eastern University, and is a Certified School Psychologist, working in that role in local school districts for almost ten years. She earned a B.Ed. in Kindergarten and Elementary Education, and an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology, both from McGill University in Montreal Canada, and has experience teaching general and special education across grade-levels in Canada, the United States and England. She previously taught as an Adjunct Professor with Eastern University and is the Field Placement Coordinator for School Counseling practicums and internships.

Dr. Morissette’s research interests include the impact of screens on child and adolescent brain development, particularly executive functioning, as well as family-based interventions to support children and teen well-being. She is an advocate for increasing mental-health supports and trauma-informed practices in schools.
