Our students and alumni have accomplished great successes in extending what they have learned to make an impact in the communities where they work. Here are just a few representative examples of what our graduates are doing around the world:
Pat Dawson has a heart for the youth of Raleigh, NC, and works with Neighbor to Neighbor ministries as the Outreach Coordinator there. He graduated from International Development's U.S. Residency Program in 2015.
Jamie Echegoyen graduated with a B.A. in Missiology and Anthropology in 2015 and is founding a new ministry with Urban Promise in the Dominican Republic.
Jon-Michael Odean graduated with an M.A. in Theological and Cultural Anthropology in 2015, having completed a thesis on the spiritual life of Jesuit priests in retirement. Jon-Michael currently works full time for Eastern University as an enrollment counselor, and as an adjunct professor of anthropology.
Stephanie Oelrich will graduate with an M.A. in Theological and Cultural Anthropology in 2017. Her thesis is on recovery from sex trafficking.
Luis Ortiz graduated with an M.A. in Theological and Cultural Anthropology in 2015. His thesis was on the complexities of ethnic identity of a Nepali Bhutanese church community in Lancaster, PA. Luis currently works for the Church World Service and as an adjunct professor of anthropology at Eastern University.
Sarah Parcell graduated with a B.A. in Missiology and Anthropology in 2017 and is planning to return to Jordan to work in a non-profit organization.
Daniel Ryumugabe graduated from the International Development Africa Residency program in 2014 and has since become the Head of Transformation at Opportunity International. He also has a passion for supporting children in Rwanda and has started his own non-profit, Africa Shalom Missions.
Elaine Tymchak graduated in 2010 and has now started Cultivate International, working to equip entrepreneurs with business skills across the globe.
Lauren Mason Whitfield graduated with a B.A. in Missiology and Anthropology in 2007 and is presently pursuing graduate theological studies at Princeton Theological Seminary.
