Mission
The Department of Social Transformation (comprised of programs in Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Missiology, Political Science, and Sociology) seeks to cultivate informed change agents to transform local, national, and global communities. Our students pursue a distinctly Christian, interdisciplinary, and rigorous education emphasizing holistic social transformation through the development of critical thinking, research, and analytical skills. These skills equip them to take up vocations related to social change, political transformation, community restoration, and the continued pursuit and application of knowledge in their respective fields. Our faculty are scholar-practitioners seeking to apply in the world at large the concepts and theories examined in class.
Incorporating both graduate and undergraduate programs, as well as the Campolo Institute for Applied Research in Social Justice, the Department of Social Transformation seeks to develop students who are passionate about social change, restorative justice, and empowering Christian communities to be agents of reconciliation in a conflicted and divided world.
