CSP services begin prior to the Fall semester with an orientation session for entering first-year and transfer students. The goals of the orientation are to introduce students to the campus and to prepare them for the transition to college.
The CSP Coordinator works with students and staff throughout each semester to identify and address individual academic, social, and life skills needs.
Throughout the year, students have frequent contact with the CSP Coordinator and their mentors. Interactions will occur in both individual and group settings. Students are expected to actively participate in CSP services.
Student Services Include:
- Pre-Fall Semester Orientation (first-year and transfer students only)
- Individual coaching (as needed)
- Weekly skills group focusing on academic, social, daily life skills, and cultural supports
- Liaison support with faculty, staff, and university departments
- Supported social activities at least twice per month
- Supervised study sessions (five 2-hour sessions per week)
- Graduate Mentors providing live-in residence hall, academic, and social support
- Undergraduate Peer Mentors providing support with academics, social life, and navigating the campus and its culture
