Doris Acevedo earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Temple University, with a concentration in Children and Families and a specialization in Community and Policy. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Chestnut Hill College.

For the past 20 years, Doris has dedicated her career to the nonprofit sector, primarily focusing on child welfare programs. She currently serves as the Director of Prevention Services at a local nonprofit organization, where she leads efforts to support vulnerable children, families, and communities.

Throughout her career, Doris has remained deeply committed to empowering families to achieve their goals and advocating on their behalf. She has championed program development initiatives and worked diligently to improve service delivery for some of the most vulnerable populations. Her passion for systems improvement has also led her to serve on several boards and provide consultation on initiatives designed to strengthen and enhance services across organizations and communities.

Working with students has given Doris the opportunity to engage with emerging social work professionals who share a passion for helping others. She values the chance to mentor and support students as they navigate their educational and professional journeys in the field of social work.
