Dr. McGrath is a full time professor at Strayer University’s Delaware County campus in Springfield, Pa., where he teaches undergraduate and graduate-level business and management courses in human resources, organizational behavior and operations. Dr. McGrath has been with Eastern since 2008. In addition to his teaching responsibilities at Eastern, McGrath is an adjunct faculty member for Penn State Brandywine, Millersville University, West Chester University and Delaware County Community College. He has also served for the past 18 years as president of CBM Productions, a special event entertainment company that provides music and lighting services.
Dr. McGrath enjoys teaching at Eastern because he enjoys the class size in addition to the various formats offered at the university. In addition to the beautiful architecture and campus, he enjoys the culture at the university and the bond the students have with each other. The staff and faculty are great to work with. Students are challenged to push themselves and the abundance of business classes show that the school gives them the opportunity to succeed.
He believes it is necessary to take into account, and provide for, inherent learning style differences. He embraces teaching as an opportunity to inspire and empower. As a teacher, it is his goal to enhance student learning as a transformative experience. Much of his knowledge for the courses that he teaches comes from real-life experiences which he believes are crucial for adult learners. For both students and adult learners it is important to implement intrinsic motivation in the classroom and be an inspirational role model to guide the students through the learning process.
