St. Davids, PA: Eastern University is pleased to announce a new partnership with the City of Harrisburg. The partnership stems from Mayor Eric Papenfuse’s Live and Learn Partnership. This initiative will help develop and encourage City employees to reach their professional and post-secondary goals. Eastern will support this effort by offering tuition discounts for adult undergraduate and graduate programs to all full-time City employees and their dependents.
“I am most appreciative of Eastern University’s partnership to support our City,” said Mayor Eric Papenfuse. “We thank Eastern University for reaching out to offer valuable educational opportunities for our employees. We encourage others to follow Eastern University’s lead and join hands with the City to ensure the success of the City’s recovery.”
Mumia Parham, Executive Director of Strategic Alliances said, “Eastern University is the first participating institution in the Mayor’s tuition discount program in the City of Harrisburg. This is an exciting opportunity for both the University and the City to advance shared goals and achieve great outcomes. I am enthusiastic about the prospects of this tuition partnership and I am eager to aid and support incoming adult student’s return back to school as they pursue their degree at Eastern!”
Eastern University and the Mayor’s Office will host a Partnership Signing on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 12 noon. The event will take place in the Atrium of the MLK Government Center, 10 N Second Street, Harrisburg, PA.
