Lynn Nottage’s Crumbs from the Table of Joy is a lyrical coming-of-age story that illuminates the tensions between religious fervor, racial injustice, and adolescent awakening in 1950s America. Our staging is faithful to the historical realities of the Jim Crow era, and the nuanced experiences of families during the Great Migration.  We offer you the particular world of this play and the Crump family with accuracy, artistry, and joy.  The universal themes of love, grief, devotion, oppression, and that persistent longing for a place to call home makes Crumbs accessible to all.

As a pre-professional training program, we approach all dramatic literature and theatrical production with both rigor and ethics. Our students are mentored to engage diverse theatrical forms with wonder, integrity, and a growing appreciation for historic and contemporary Christian faith.  We celebrate the arts as vital to education, faith development, and service to a world in need.
