Changing the Future, One Student at a Time
An endowed scholarship at Eastern University is designed to provide annual awards to students for the foreseeable future. Endowed funds differ from others in that they are truly the gift that keeps giving. Instead of the entire amount of the gift being spent outright, the total amount of the gift is invested and a portion of the funds, which have been invested, is distributed by way of a scholarship(s) for selected student recipients. Scholarships may be used to honor and memorialize family members, friends, professors and mentors from all walks of life.
Award criteria may be placed on the fund by a donor, provided that those restrictions are acceptable to the University. A donor may wish to consider such criteria for the recipient as follows:
- Awarded according to geographical location (local church association, county, etc.)
- Awarded according to field of study
- Demonstrated Financial Need
Scholarships are a major part of providing necessary funding for Eastern students. More than 96% percent of the student body receives financial assistance from scholarships, grants, loans and work-study employment. Without these types of investments, a large portion of students would be unable to attend Eastern.
Eastern is eternally thankful for alumni, parents, staff, faculty and friends who choose to assist students in this way.
