Our Mission:

The Center for Career Development provides education and resources to support Eastern University students as they identify next steps, navigate career decisions, and seek opportunities that empower them to serve and thrive.

Eastern University Diversity Statement:

Eastern University recognizes that diversity and inclusiveness are essential in establishing a prosperous and productive campus community. Having a diverse faculty and staff community creates energy and insight while also establishing cultural awareness and shared differences among our community as we seek to follow our mission of Faith, Reason, and Justice.

Therefore, having a diverse campus is a primary initiative at Eastern. All members of our community are encouraged and empowered to achieve their personal, educational, and career goals while learning about different cultures.

Our Diversity, Equity, and Belonging Executive Team works to implement the mission and goals of diversity, equity, and belonging at Eastern University. Our mission responds to the needs of our students and the entire Eastern community, with a particular focus on supporting underrepresented populations.

Civility Policy

Eastern University’s Center for Career Development strives to include and serve all students with civility and respect. Students are expected to treat CCD staff with dignity, politeness and understanding as described by our University Student Conduct, Policies, & Procedures. Students who are uncivil to CCD staff (including name-calling, aggressive behavior, yelling, etc.) and/or demonstrate disregard for CCD policies will be asked to leave/will have their meeting cut short. Continual displays of unprofessionalism and disrespect will be documented and escalated to the Dean of Students.

Current Student Appointments

All Current Students are offered three (3) appointments with Career Center staff per full academic semester. Properly canceled appointments can be rescheduled at your convenience. No show appointments will count as one (1) of a student's allotted three (3) appointments. Event attendance, including drop-in hours, do not count towards students' number of permitted appointments. The Center for Career Development does not have walk-in appointments. Please schedule your appointment in advance by doing so at your convenience through Handshake, by emailing careers@eastern.edu, or by calling our office at (610)-341-5827. Online undergraduate, graduate, and alumni appointments will take place over Zoom. The Center for Career Development reserves the right to decline or cancel appointments as needed and students are invited to reschedule accordingly. View Alumni Appointment Policies.

Cancelation Policy

If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so within 24 hours' notice. We understand that emergencies arise and this is not always possible, so a properly canceled appointment is one that notifies our office prior to your scheduled appointment. Notification is defined as having canceled your appointment via Handshake, email, or phone call to the office prior to your scheduled appointment’s start time.

No Show Policy

If you fail to attend your appointment without canceling or notifying the office (no show) at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to wait seven (7) days before requesting a new appointment. An appointment requested prior to the seven (7) day waiting period will be denied. If you are more than 15 minutes late to the appointment, the appointment is considered a no show. A no show appointment counts toward the allotted appointments available to you as an alumni (2 per year) or current student (3 per semester).

Materials Review

Please note that when a resume and/or cover letter is submitted for review it will take a minimum of three (3) business days before we are able to return it to you with feedback.
