No. Applicants need graduate level credits or Master’s degree in any content area and complete (24) graduate level credits in the areas listed here: Assessment and Instruction in Writing (3 graduate credits), Assessment and Instruction in Reading (6 graduate credits), Practicum in Reading to include application of strategies in assessment, instruction and parent involvement (6 graduate credits), Literacy in the Content Areas (3 graduate credits), Teaching English as a Second Language (3 graduate credits), and one of these areas: Literacy Acquisition (3 graduate credits) or Coaching Adult Learners (3 graduate credits). NOTE - If you are pursuing the (30) credit option and want ideas for the remaining 6 credits, these courses have been accepted in the past: Language Development (3 graduate credits), Emergent Literacy (3 graduate credits).
