Eric McCloy (he/him) is the Chief Information Officer for Eastern University, a position he has held since 2016. Eric has over 35 years of experience in IT, more than twenty of which are in Higher Education.
Eric's early IT career was concentrated in programming, analysis, and database design - spreadsheets are a particular passion - but for the past decade has primarily been concerned with IT strategic planning and project management. At Eastern, he has concentrated on infrastructure improvements (WiFi, Networking, Security) in order to give Eastern a solid technological foundation for its educational mission.
Prior to coming to Eastern, Eric ran a consulting business - hiring database developers in Kiev, Ukraine and Tomsk (Siberia), Russia. In his spare time, he keeps a saltwater aquarium, loves to sail, and is a huge Tolkien fan.
Eric graduated from Temple University, with a B.A. in Geography and Urban Studies. He also has an M.Div. from Westminster Seminary and an M.B.A. in International Business from Arcadia University.
