St. Davids, PA: Eastern University is pleased to share the Topping Out of the Templeton Hall construction project, a milestone marking the completion of structural work on the new state-of-the-art facility.
As part of this time-honored construction tradition, the placement of the final beam atop the building symbolizes not only the progress made but also the excitement surrounding this project. With the structural phase complete following today’s final beam placement, the focus now shifts to finishing the interior and outfitting the space with the equipment and resources students will need to thrive.
“We are deeply grateful for the collective efforts that have brought us to this pivotal moment in realizing our vision for Templeton Hall,” says Ronald Matthews, President of Eastern University. “This milestone is a reflection of the generous support of our donors, the diligent work of our construction partners at The Norwood Company, and the inspiration provided by our students, faculty, and staff who give this project its purpose. Above all, we thank God for guiding us through this journey.”
The Templeton Hall renovation and expansion project will include classrooms and communal spaces for all students and will serve as a home for those in the Templeton Honors College. The addition will also include a recital and performance space, as well as an art gallery to support our Fine and Performing Arts programs. Eastern broke ground on the construction in May of last year.
“Templeton Hall represents more than just a building; it is a physical manifestation of our commitment to the shared pursuit of that which is true, good, beautiful, and holy,” says Brian Williams, Dean of the Templeton Honors College. “We look forward to seeing how this new place inspires and prepares students to celebrate and serve the world around them.”
The Norwood Company, Eastern’s construction partner, has played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life. Jim Payne of The Norwood Company, states, “It has been an honor to collaborate with Eastern University on this remarkable project. Templeton Hall stands as a testament to what can be achieved through partnership, innovation, and a shared vision of the future.”
When Templeton Hall opens to the campus community in the fall, it will stand as a reflection of Eastern’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and spiritual development in a Christ-centered environment. Designed to encourage engagement and fellowship, the building will also welcome members of the broader community, extending its resources to those outside of the Templeton Honors College as well.
