Dear EU community,
This Monday, we honor the bravery and dedication of those who have served our country. Veterans Day is an opportunity to express our profound gratitude for the sacrifices made by veterans within our EU community, and beyond.
Originally established to mark the end of World War I, Veterans Day now honors all those who have served, giving selflessly to protect our nation. Their courage should inspire us to work toward a future defined by peace and justice.
Let us also pray for the families of veterans, whose support and resilience played and continue to play a crucial role in service to our nation. As we reflect on this day, I leave you with this Scripture: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13).
To all the veterans and their loved ones in our Eastern Community who served and sacrificed for our peace and freedom, thank you.
With deep appreciation,
Ronald A. Matthews, D.M.A.
